yea its alot easier with monk, u can go with way less health, i only used vital blessing since i dont get divine favor with mesmer and 2 be honest i have never used spirit bond before i still like 2 55 with my monk so i never used it before, just put this up incase someone didnt have a monk harvest temple. hope this build helps out anyone there who wants a farm spot that is superfast and has decent drops.

Yeah, I used to do this run a few months ago (stumbled upon it by accident) with a Mo/Me. I brought Mantra of Resolve for Harvest Temple, activating it with a Visage simultaneously to lessen the chance of interruption (Shiro'ken Assassins use Wild Strike like nuts, which is why I wait to activate MoR).
Also, I did manage to run this build with some success in Raisu Palace. There, you must swap in Spellbreaker (meaning only Mo/Me's can do that run), unless you want to spend a ton of time dodging the Shiro'ken Mesmers (which, although they don't shatter, are a PAIN because of Diversion and Arcane Languor). It is quite a bit harder to run this build in Raisu Palace, and it will only work if there is a Famine up and Warriors/Assassins in the mob. Interruptions become a much bigger problem, especially when an Assassin randomly hits you with disrupting chop right as you cast Spirit Bond.
IMO, for the Raisu Palace run, the drops are not worth the effort; it takes quite a bit of time to manipulate everything into one nicely packed ball for SV/AV to do the job. All I ever managed to get was a very large collection of Soul Stones. Harvest Temple is nice for a quick bit of cash, though.

I've been doing the Harvest Temple run most of the morning. In about an hour I made 15k and got one Golden Phoenix Blade (req 12) +5 energy so I'm very happy. The rest of the drops were crap and I eventually got the anti-farming message so I guess I'm done for a bit.
It's a decent farm which I'd compare to a Drok's Troll run. Just substitute Soul Stones for Troll Tusks and Forbidden Staves for Raven Staves and you've got essentially the same thing.
Overall a very satisfying farm.

It's functional as a monk. I dropped my ill to 11 pumped that into Divine and used Blessed Aura to extend the ps/pb. so 25% extended +20% from weapon. MoR is handy.
I found it to be pretty much a button masher and a little tedious and time consuming. You must group them up or you will find it even more tedious. It seemed easier getting two groups to me, but you still have the rangers and distance to deal with.

Skyi there is already a build for that.
As for me, I changed my build a bit and hardly ever die. Just those times where I get knocked out of MoR and my Spirit Bond somehow gets countered.
11 Illusion
14 Prot
6 Inspiration
Rest in Divine Favor
My free slot is now Life Attunement so Spirit Bond now gains me 140 roughly per hit, while taking around 50ish.
I love the purdy colors.

I don't get it...
I tried this, with the same armor, weapons, and attributes as you guys..
Put on Spirit Bond + Prot Spirit after Balthazar's Spirit and Essence Bond...
They just pwn me in 5 seconds, not even giving me a chance to apply Av/Sv

You should be able to run right thru the mobs with those four skills up, make
sure SB really stays up, I have been interrupted and killed instantly several
times trying to keep SB or PS up, I need to work on not getting MoR ripped
off, I read the assassins are guilty there.

Well, most likely you're not using 15AL armor from Shing Jae Monastery. You need to take a lot of damage for Spirit Bond to trigger. Also, do not carry a wand or staff. This will cause Assassins to cast Shadow Shroud on you. Take a +5 energy sword/bow/axe/hammer.
Here's my Monk/Mesmer build:
As you can see, they are totally destroyed. My attributes are as follows:
Prot: 16 (12 + 1 + 3 ) *I use a superior rune on a prot head tattoo.
Illusion: 12
Inspiration 3
Equipment:
15 AL Shing Jae Monastery armor for everything except the head. I just use my Droknar's 60AL headpiece because I didn't feel like spending the cash on another superior Protection rune.
Totem Axe, Rajazan's Fervor or other +5e 20% enchant weapon.
Skill Bar:
------------------
Spirit Bond
Protective Spirit
Ancestors Visage
Sympathetic Visage
Mantra of Resolve
Essence Bond
Balthazar's Spirit
Amity {E} ** my personal twist and a good one.
Why Amity? Well even with Mantra of Resolve you can get interrupted. Assassins use Wild Blow which will knock you right out of MoR. Amity solves this. At 16 prot it will last 21 seconds. However, you don't want it to last that long since you need hits for energy.
How to use Amity? Basically I run around like a chicken with its head cut off. I aggro all but the last group of Shiro'ken. (I'll explain this later.) Then I loop around the rangers to tighten them into a ball. All the while pulling my "pain train" of Shiro'ken Warriors and Assassins. Refreshing PS/SB as needed. When the Rangers are balled up I lead the "pain train" up to them. Hit MoR immediately following with Amity. BAM! Quiet. **I have yet to be interrupted in the time MoR hits and the 1/4 second it takes to cast Amity.** Now I can cast AV/SV unmolested. Then I carefully [TAB] [SPACE], [TAB] [SPACE]... to unleash the onslaught.
If anything is left standing I pull it to the last group of Shiro'ken and repeat.
I've found that leaving the last group alone until the end almost always results in me killing everything. It allows me to "ball up" the rangers and bring the melee near them.
Amity... also great when you have been interrupted on your AV/SV and you need a breather to wait for a recharge. The only danger is that you need a few hits to keep your energy up. If you Amity everything then you may need to break aggro until you can recharge.
Overall it's doubled my efficiency and success rate.
Cheers!
EDIT: A note here: When you Amity the mob be very careful that you won't be out of energy after casting AV/SV. You may need to refresh SB/PS and if nothing is hitting you that is bad. It's best to be at full energy when you do MoR/Amity. Then hit SV or AV. Then restart the aggro by attacking a foe. Of course keep PS/SB up too.
I've found that you don't need both AV/SV up one right after the other. Basically casting one will be enough to drain all the adrenaline and energy from the foes around you. Then you should be able to cast the other about half way through the recharge of the first one. Without adrenaline or energy you most likely won't be interrupted. Of course keeping MoR up is the best policy as it's good insurance against an annoying interrupt.
EDIT #2: I didn't know if an offhand would trigger Shadow Shroud or not so I didn't bring one. It seems that it doesn't, but I haven't tested it. I'm basing this on what I've seen in SS from other people. Either way, I'll test it and report back.

Very nice MelechRic, but I can only get my Prot to 12, seeing as i'm a Mesmer.
Hmmm so having crappy armor is that important? O.o
I'll buy the +15 AL and see if it works...

Low armor level is definitely important. You need to take a lot of damage in order to trigger Spirit Bond's healing effect. Otherwise you'll just have damage reduction from Protective Spirit but zero healing.
Sorry about not being a monk primary. Even so, a 20% enchant weapon and Amity is very worthwhile. As a mesmer, Fast Casting would be worth putting points into.

Hmm, you must have deleted your "but how do you kill the rangers post." I'll leave my answer here anyway...
To kill rangers you have to be near them when the warriors and assassins are hitting you. What I do is get aggro from the first three groups. As you move further away from the rangers they will follow (but at a distance). Then before I get to the fourth group I head back the way I came. I circle around the rangers a few times refreshing PS/SB as needed. By circling the rangers will begin to gather into a tight group. Once the ranger group is tight enough I run right to it and stop. The assassin and warrior train will follow me and start hitting me.
MoR + Amity = all quiet and waiting patiently for me to cast SV
After I cast SV I hit one of the monsters near me. That should end Amity and start up the attacks again. (You may need to attack a few foes for this to work.)
Now the rangers are in aggro range and will start taking damage from Famine because SV is draining their energy too. Rangers typically drop one or two hits before Warriors and Assassins do. I'm unsure as to why. They may either have lower HP or have used up their energy faster than the Assassin/Warriors.
I may try to make a small video showing how I do the run. I'll youtube it if I do and put the link here.
